Assessment of points per incident should not be accumulated and should
be based on most severe offenses. Only two years of driving records will be evaluated.

1-3 Points No Action
4-9 Points Acceptable. If employee attends a Defensive Driving training course (course offered by Campus Safety) it will reduce point total by 2.
10 or more Points Loss of driving privileges for any 15-passenger van driven
for university business for a minimum of 12 months. At
the end of 12 months, eligibility for driving privileges will
be contingent upon reinstatement of a valid U.S. driver’s
license, total points per the point system, and completion of
a defensive driving course.
*Other serious violations: involves vehicular manslaughter, negligent homicide, felonious driving, felony with a vehicle, failure to stop or identify after a crash(including leaving the scene of a crash, hit and run, giving false information to a law enforcement officer). It also includes eluding or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer or any significant violation warranting suspension of license.
