Green PCEncourage fellow students, friends and
co-workers to “think green” when using computer equipment. Greening your computer usage on-campus both conserves our valuable natural resources, and reduces energy consumption at Ohio University.

 

ELECTRONIC WASTE HAS VALUE

 

> Don't Throw Away - RECYCLE:
  • PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) like a BlackBerry or Palm Pilot
  • Digital cameras
  • Pagers/beepers
  • Toner cartridges
  • Computer floppy disks (3.5") or Zip disks
  • Audio/video tapes
  • 2 way radios
  • Instructions, books, paperwork, transparencies, shrink wrap, bubble wrap lined envelopes
  • Computers, monitors, printers, packaging, books, accessories.

If these are on the inventory then contact 593-0231. If these aren't (or are junk), then contact us.

Things that can be placed in the e-waste collection cabinets:

  • Cell phones - any condition, batteries and accessories
  • Ink jet cartridges
  • CDs or DVDs
  • Batteries and accessories
  • Compact florescents

Always losing your USB drive? Need additional file storage options?

The OU Office of Information Technology provides 200 megabytes of online storage space to students. This storage space can be accessed anywhere, and can hold approximately the same amount of data as a small USB drive.

Oak's network storage feature lets you access files from virtually anywhere, no disks required. Visit the OIT website for more information, or call the Help Desk at 740-593-1222.
