Appealing a Citation
Faculty and Staff can appeal a citation 10 days from the date the citation was issued. After that time, the citation stands and must be paid. All citations matched to a student will be billed to their student account even if it has been appealed. If the appeal is won or reduced, the account will be credited in that amount. Appeals can be filed online or by picking up an appeal form at Parking Services.

Disabled Vehicles
All disabled vehicles must be reported to Parking Services immediately and moved within 48 hours. Abuse or falsification of information when reporting a disabled vehicle could result in being ticketed and/or towed. |

Handicapped Spaces
Handicapped spaces are reserved for people who have disabilities and properly display a State issued handicap placard. Individuals who believe they meet the criteria of being physically disabled may apply for a state handicap placard through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Temporary handicap parking permits (not to exceed three weeks) may be obtained from Parking Services provided documentation from a physician is presented. Violators may be cited in accordance with Ohio law and/or towed. |

Meters
Meter violations are $5. However, they do escalate to $10 if they are not paid within 48 hours. Payment must be postmarked within the 48 hour time frame to avoid escalation fees. Please do not use campus mail for citation payments.
Meters are located in various places across campus. Fee and time restrictions are posted on each meter. Vehicles parked at a meter that has expired will be issued a $5 citation for "Expired Meter". Vehicles parked in a metered space longer than the allowed time (IE: a 2 hour meter and parked longer than 2 hours) may also be issued a $20 citation for "Overtime Parking". Overtime Parking citations may only be issued 30 minutes (or more) after an expired meter citation. Vehicles may then be issued a $20 "Overtime Parking" citation each additional time frame consistent with the meter time frame (IE: a 2 hour meter--vehicles can be issued a $20 "Overtime Parking" citation each 2 hour time frame). After three "Overtime Parking" citations have been issued, the vehicle is then subject to towing and/or booting at the owner/driver's expense. Vehicles parked in a metered space with no time restrictions will receive a $5 citation after the meter has expired (or if no money was placed in the meter). The vehicle is then subject to receive a $5 violation every additional hour it is parked at that expired meter. After 3 expired meter violations have been issued, the vehicle is then subject to towing and/or booting at the owner/driver's expense). Meters that have been bagged as "Reserved" require a special "Reserved Meter Space" permit while that meter is bagged. Any vehicle parked in a reserved meter space without the appropriate permit is subject to a fine and possibly being towed. Meters that are bagged or covered with a plain bag indicates the meter is not functioning. When a meter is bagged with a plain bag, the meter space then follows the parking restrictions for the rest of the lot (IE: the metered space is in a purple lot, only a vehicle displaying a valid permit for that lot may park in that space since the meter cannot be fed). |

Summer, Weekend, After Hour, Etc. Parking
Regardless of times listed, vehicles must be parked in a legal space! All Dark Green and Purple lots (excluding meters and restricted spaces) are open to those without a permit during the summer. However, this does not include overnight parking. Due to lot maintenance and campus' activities, lots may need to be cleared and vehicles left unattended will be towed at the owner/driver's expense. Vehicles parking on campus more than 48 hours must have prior permission from parking services. This is stricly enforced. Purple Lots: Monday-Friday lotsare monitored 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday--lots are open. Dark Green Lots: Monday-Friday lots are monitored 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday & Sunday--lots are open. Red Lots: These lots are monitored at all times and must always have a permit displayed. Seniority Lots (orange, yellow, light green, gray, and black lots): Lots are monitored at all times. Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m. a lot permit is required. A dark green faculty/staff permit is required at all other times. Summer Parking: All dark green and purple lots are open during the summer. |

Permits & Permit Sharing
Your permit has been specifically issued to you. Do not share your permit with anyone. Students or visitors are not allowed to use faculty/staff permits. Sharing of permits could result in a $100 fine or revoked parking privileges, and student judicial referral. |

Restricted Areas
Restricted areas require a permit issued by Parking Services corresponding with the lot signage. Vehicles that do not display the appropriate permit will be ticketed and/or towed. |

Service Drives and Loading Zones
Loading zones are marked with signage and are usually 15 or 30-minute spaces. Please obey the times indicated on these signs. If your building is located in an area where there are not any loading zones available and parking is accessible to your building, Parking Services may issue a temporary permit upon request. Vehicles parking in these areas without the appropriate permit will be ticketed and/or towed. |

Ticketing

Any one vehicle can be ticketed every 15 minutes in a 15-minute space, every 30 minutes in a 30- minute space, every hour in a one-hour space, and every four hours in a regular space with no time restrictions. Visitor Parking
Visitors must display a valid parking permit when visiting campus. It is the responsibility of each department to work with Parking Services to obtain permits for their visitors prior to their arrival. Permits can be requested in advance by e-mailing parking@ohio.edu at any time. Departmental visitors may also utilize the Baker University Center Garage for a fee. |

Visitor Spaces
Faculty, staff, and students are not considered visitors to any campus location. Overtime parking in visitor spaces is closely monitored, therefore, vehicles that have been parked in a designated visitor space longer than the permitted time will be ticketed and/or towed. Vehicles can be ticketed every 30 minutes or every hour (depending on the time allotted for the space). |
