General Information & Policy for Visitor

Any visitor (please continue for the definition of a visitor) to the Ohio University campus with a temporary or permanent mobility impairment who has received a state-issued disability permit is eligible to obtain an Ohio University disability registration sticker. The University requires all visitors who wish to utilize disability or general parking with their state-issued disability permit to obtain an Ohio University disability registration sticker to affix to their state-issued placard. A visitor to the campus of Ohio University is defined as an individual who visits three times or less within a quarter. Individuals who are neither a student or faculty/staff member and visit campus more than three times per quarter will not be eligible to utilize their state-issued placard on the campus of Ohio University. Disability parking on the campus of Ohio University is intended for the University community. In an effort to meet disability parking needs of the University community who are on campus daily, disability parking must be limited to those affiliated with the University as a student, faculty/staff member, or short-term visitor.

The purpose of this policy is to help identify where disability spaces are needed, regulate the use of these spaces to ensure they are available for those who need them, as well as to discourage abuse by people "borrowing" a state placard issued to another person.
