General Information
The Baker University Center Garage has 100 numbered, reserved spaces in which any active Faculty/Staff or Student in good standing with the University may apply for a reserved space. These reserved spaces are awarded on a first-requested, first-issued basis.
Customers who currently hold a valid permit with an account in good standing will be given first choice to purchase permits for the upcoming school year. Other applicants will be reviewed on a first requested, first issued basis until all spaces are sold.
Fees, Payment Methods, and Refunds
Baker University Center Reserved parking is $800 for the full year if the permit is paid in full upon initial purchase. A full year is September 1 through August 31. If a multi-payment option is selected, additional fees will apply. Please see the payment schedule for the 11-12 school year for further clarification.
A reserved permit includes parking in a reserved, numbered space within the garage from September 1 through August 31 of the specified year. Permit fees prorate each week after the first week of sales has begun. To determine the current fee for a Baker Garage Permit, please review the Fees Schedule. This same schedule may also be used to determine a refund amount based on return date and original payment method. Refunds are only issued once a permit has been returned. The refund amount is determined by the date in which the permit is received by Parking Services. Refunds are not issued based on when the permit was last used.
Parking must be obtained with the intention of paying for the entire year in order to retain parking within the reserved space for that particular school year. If fees are not paid by the due date, the permit will be deactivated and reserved parking privilegeswill be lost. Late fees may apply. Payment methods are as follows.
Faculty/staff payments must be received in the form of personal check or money order made out to Ohio University. Cash is also accepted but only when payment is made in person.
Student parking fees may be billed to the students University account in increments determined by the option chosen.
Once a reserved permit has been purchased, it may be renewed yearly without having to reapply via the permit request form. Current permit holders will be contacted late June or early July to arrange parking for the following school year.
If the permit is returned for a refund at any time or is not renewed or paid by the payment deadline, the reserved space is placed back into rotation, and the customer must later complete a new application if reserved parking is later desired. Once a permit is requested and then awarded, the customer is then responsible for the payment of the $15 processing fee--even if the permit was never picked up.
Applications for the 2011-2012 school year should not be submitted until after August 20, 2011.
