All citation appeals must be filed within ten days of the date the citation was received. After that time, the citation stands as is and must be paid. All citations must be paid prior to filing the appeal. If the appeal is won or reduced, a refund will be issued. Student citations are billed to student accounts (provided the student has registered their vehicle with Parking Services). Accounts will be credited if necessary from an appeal judgment.
Appeals must be filed online by filling out the online appeal form indicated above. Please remember--your citation must be in our system in order to process your appeal. If you receive an error saying your appeal cannot be accepted, try again in approximately 8 hours.
Additionally, appeals must be received within ten days of the citation issue date to be considered. Once an appeal has been filed, it is sent to the Parking Committee. The parking committee consists of Ohio University Faculty/staff members, student appointees, and community members. All appeals meetings are conducted outside the Parking Services office. When reviewing your appeal, the committee also reviews a copy of the citation in question, and the customer's citation and permit account history. Please note that a citation may only be appealed one time. There is no second appeals process.
