Kevin Hurst, Chef de Cuisine
Kevin came to Latitude 39 with years of culinary experience in Southeast Ohio. Kevin worked as a pastry chef at Napoleons Bakery in Columbus, and most recently as Executive Chef at the Athens Country Club. Kevin enjoys working with students, and providing a top quality gathering place for the Athens and university communities.
Jared Bennett, Sous Chef
Jared is an Athens native, recently returning to the area to work with Chefs Kevin and Matt at Latitude 39. Jared has gained experience working in several restaurants in northern California and renowned Cincinnati restaurants including Daveed's, Aioli, and Nectar.
Matt Rapposelli, University Executive Chef
Originally from Cleveland, OH, Matt comes from a family history richly steeped in the food business. After attaining a degree in Recreation and Wildlife, and working as a park ranger for the National Park Service in the North Cascades National Park, he could not deny his genetic predisposition for the culinary arts. After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, Chef Rapposelli has worked his way through a myriad of restaurant and bakery experiences: from a classic French restaurant on the slopes of Vermont, fine dining establishments in Columbus and Cincinnati, a luxury inn in the Hocking Hills, to owning an award winning European hearth breads bakery. As a passionate devotee to all things food, Chef Rapposelli loves nothing more than traveling to sample food offerings worldwide. He passionately shares this experience with all of the dining guests at Ohio University.
