Returning Student Room Selection
Knowing which buildings you can choose from is one of the keys to a successful selection of your residence hall living environment for fall 2009. In the past we have referred to the different phases of this process as Option 1, 2, and 3. Options 1 and 2 do not apply to off-campus students unless they are being pulled in by a current on-campus student as a roommate. Below is the breakdown of the various stages:
Option 1 - "Squatting Lottery" (Return to same room) - April 27-29
Any student currently residing in a mixed or upperclass hall can elect to return to their same room by participating in this lottery. Students wishing to be a roommate with someone who is returning to their same room, can also be pulled into the room during this lottery. However, each student affected by this housing assignment must be listed as mutual roommate(s).
Option 2 - "Campus Wide Room Selection Lottery" (Select a different room) - May 5-14
Any student currently residing on campus can elect to return to another room on campus provided that the application and deposit was received by the April 15th deadline. Students wishing to be a roommate with a returning student selecting a room, can also be pulled into the room during this lottery. However, each student affected by this housing assignment must be listed as mutual roommate(s).
Option 3 - "Campus Wide Room Selection Lottery" (Select a different room) - May 19-20
Any student who missed the application/deposit deadline or off campus students wishing to move back on campus now have the opportunity to select a room. Students wishing to be a roommate with a returning student selecting a room, can also be pulled into the room during this lottery. However, each student affected by this housing assignment must be listed as mutual roommate(s).
