Room Selection: Where do you start?

Check out the Tips & Hints and selection options for valuable information prior to your room selection.

Students will be eligible to select a room after completing a housing contract and fulfilling the housing deposit by the April 15 deadline. The student selection date and time can be found by visiting www.ohio.edu/housiing and selecting the 'MyHousing'.  To complete a contract, please visit www.ohio.edu/housing and select the 'Returning Student Contract' link. 

You will be prompted to log in with your Oak information (click here for Oak help).

Part 1

Roommate Registration. This option will be available beginning April 13, 2009 by visiting www.ohio.edu/housing and clicking on 'MyHousing'.  After authenticating with your OAK ID and password, roommate additions, deletions, or reminders can be completed by selecting the 'room selection' tab located under the navigational toolbar. 

Part 2

Returning Student Room Selection. Students will be able to return to their same room (Squatting Lottery) beginning April 27-29.   Students will be able to select a different room (Campus Wide Room Selection Lottery) beginning May 5-14.     These options will only be available to current on campus students who have met the application and deposit payment deadline. To select a room, students should visit www.ohio.edu/housing and click on 'MyHousing'.   Room selection can be completed by selecting the 'room selection' tab located under the navigational toolbar.

Those students who missed the April 15 application/deposit deadline and off campus students wishing to return to campus can select a room beginning May19-20.      Late room selection will be available on May 22.

Part 3

Room Change Days Participation.   Watch your OAK e-mail for a message from our office concerning the opportunity to make room changes - that message will be sent on May 24.  The explanation of the process will be added here by May 22.

Qualify for an exemption?

Students wanting to commute from home or qualify for one of the standard exemptions  must complete an 'Exemption/Termination' request form and return to the Office of Residential Housing for approval. Those students requesting to reside in a recognized fraternity or sorority must request a "Greek Life" exemption by visiting www.ohio.edu and selecting 'online forms'.
