Why should you use the online system instead of the conventional paper contract?

  • Quicker processing time
  • Error free completion (the online contract won't let you make a combination of choices that does not exist on the campus and provides helpful hints throughout the process)
  • One stop shop (both contract and housing deposit can be submitted online in a matter of minutes)

What will you need to complete an online contract?

  • You must be an admitted student to the Athens Campus
  • Know you PID (Personal Identification Number, this number was listed on your admittance letter.
  • An active OAK ID
  • Information concerning if and when you have had Hepatitis B and Meningitis vaccines (Ohio University does not require you to have either vaccination)
  • Roommate information (full name of the student[s] you are requesting and PID number)
  • If you are using eCheck for payment, you will need the routing number for your bank and your account number. This information should be located at the bottom of your check.
  • For credit card payments, the account number and expiration date will be needed. There is an additional 2.9% service fee for credit card payments. Cashnet SmartPay does not accept Visa credit or debit cards.

What else should I remember when completing my contract?

  • May 1 is the Housing contract deadline and the last day first-year students can cancel their contract and request a refund of the $200 prepayment/deposit.
  • Changes can be made to housing preferences and roommate information until June 15 for students who have submitted contracts by May 1.
  • Meal plans may be changed online until August 24 and in writing until September 3. Meal plans cannot be decreased after the beginning of the academic year.
  • Contracts are binding for the entire academic year.
