Available Apartments and Guest Facilities:
These apartments vary in size and location and are available to University guests on a short term basis. VIP apartments contain all furnishings including linens and towels. Rent includes all utilities, local telephone service and free parking.  These facilities are subject to Ohio University Policy and Procedure 03.007, "Guest and Temporary Housing."

  • Ridges Cottages: Four furnished two story cottages feature 2-3 bedrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer in basement. Transitional housing, (one year maximum), monthly and quarterly rental available.
  • Dairy Lane House: Three bedroom fully furnished house, two baths, full kitchen, washer/dryer, shared garage and a large yard. Basement apartment is rented separately.
  • Dairy Lane House Basement Apartment: Furnished one bedroom apartment located in the basement of above house, full kitchen, shared garage.
  • Bromley VIP Apartment: Two bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen. Short term housing only, weekly, monthly or quarterly rates available. May be used on occasion for conference or emergency housing.
  • Wolfe Street Apartment: One bedroom, one bath unit with full kitchen located within the Wolfe Street Apartment Complex. Available on monthly basis, requires lease and security deposit.
  • Voigt Apartment:* Efficiency unit, no kitchen, microwave, and refrigerator available. Available for overnight, weekly or quarterly rental. Over 30 days requires a lease with one month security deposit.
  • Bromley VIP Rooms*: Triple sized room with private bath, microwave/refrigerator unit. Available for nightly, weekly or monthly rental.
  • Bromley Guest Suites*: Suite style room with kitchenette. Two night minimum stay, available also for weekly, monthly or quarterly rental.
  • Bromley Standard Rooms*: Standard student room that shares bath with adjoining room. Primarily used for academic or conference groups, but available for departmental use for nightly or weekly rental as available. Microwave/refrigerator unit available.

Eligibility for Apartments:

  • Applicants must be affiliated with Ohio University in an official capacity (i.e.New employee, visiting professor, university guest, etc).
  • Reservations will be accepted no sooner than 6 months in advance for apartments, guest room reservation dates vary based on type of group or individual (ie: conference group 12 months, departments 30 days, parent two weeks).

Process for Application of VIP Apartments:

  1. All inquires regarding the VIP apartments will be directed to Conference Services Office at 740.566.9001 or by email to university.apartments@ohio.edu.
  2. The clerical staff will collect all pertinent information related to the request, such as date and time of arrival, departure date, billing information, etc. and will check for availability.
  3. Apartments will be rented on a first come, first served basis.
  4. Guest staying 30 days or longer will be required to sign a lease and provide one months rent as a security deposit.
  5. Tenants staying less than 30-days will be placed in Bromley Guest Housing and will be charged the short-term rental fees with all applicable taxes.
  6. Department sponsored guests or University departments requesting one of these apartments and willing to pay rental fee and/or receive a waiver of initial deposit, must complete a VIP rental form and include an account number for which charges will be assessed in the event of unpaid rent, damages or cancellation. Department personnel may pick up keys in advance of guest arrival. Lease (if applicable) must be signed one business day after guest arrives on campus.

Process for Application of Bromley Hall Guest Housing:

  1. All inquiries regarding guest housing may be made by calling the Conference Services Office at 740.566.9001.
  2. The clerical staff will collect all pertinent information related to the request, such as date and time of arrival, departure date, billing information, etc. and will check for availability.
  3. Rooms will be rented on a first come, first served basis. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, and check-in must occur prior to 8:30 p.m. unless special arrangements have been made. Some rooms require a minimum of two nights stay. Check-ins begin at 3:00 p.m. daily, check out is at noon. Department personnel may pick up keys in advance of guest arrival.
  4. One room key and exterior key per guest will be issued at check-in. All lost keys must be reported immediately. A fee will be assessed for all lost keys, including keys issued to special rooms and facilities areas.
  5. Individual guests (parent of students or alumni) may request a reservation no earlier than 14 days prior to their on-campus visit. A major credit card must be presented to confirm reservation status.
  6. All applicable tax will be applied to final bill.
  7. University departments requesting a room for an official guest must complete a VIP rental form and include an account number for which charges will be assessed in the event of unpaid bill, damages or cancellation. Department personnel may pick up keys in advance of guest arrival.

Rates and Refund Schedule:

Rates are determined by the Housing Office and are subject to change. Special rates may be designated for holidays, special weekends, and meeting space (if requested). Information regarding current availability and/or rates may be obtained by calling 740.566.9001. Guests utilizing these facilities for functions not related to the educational mission of the university may be subject to sales tax and to all city, county, and state transient taxes.


Discounts:

Special rate discounts will be available for departmental-sponsored individuals staying longer than 7 days. If an individual is an employee of the university and is receiving a discounted rate or is being sponsored by a University department, the value of the benefit must be reported by the sponsoring department to the Ohio University Payroll Department as a benefit subject to federal, state, and local income taxes. This would include room, meals, and other amenities received.

Cancellation policies:

Due to the limited number of available apartments and guest housing on campus, strict cancellation policies apply. Apartment rental cancellation requires a 30 day notice to receive a refund of the security deposit. Guest housing requires a forfeiture of a one night charge if cancellation occurs after the reservation is made. The cancellation policy will be reviewed with the individual as reservations take place. Cash refunds are not available at the point of service. Refunds will be processed and received within 2 to 4 weeks from request.
