Ohio University Dining Services provide five different meal plan options to fit students' budgets and eating habits. Students on any of the meal plans may choose to eat in any of the dining halls, (Boyd, Bromley, Jefferson, Shively and Nelson), regardless of where they live.

Any student enrolled at Ohio University may purchase a meal plan by calling the Residence Services Office at 740-593-4090.
All students with fewer than 90 earned credit hours or two academic years (six quarters) in the residence halls must reside in university-owned housing and participate in the associated mandatory board plan, in accordance with University's Housing Regulation. Any of the five meal plan options will satisfy the board plan requirement.

Meal plans are purchased for the entire academic year. This requirement allows us to enter into favorable year-long purchasing agreements with vendors. Students may increase to a larger meal plan at any time. Once the school year begins meal plans may not be decreased. How do I change my meal plan?

Special accommodations are made for the dietary needs of international students and others. Individuals may discuss their needs with the assistant director for menu planning.

The dining halls offer a variety of menus. On a routine basis:

  • Vegetarian menu items are available in all dining halls.
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables are available at all meals.
  • Rice is served at every meal in Shively dining hall.
  • A variety of ethnic dishes are included in the dining hall menus.
  • Omelet Bar with made to order omelets available at Nelson during breakfast.
  • A wok bar is available in Jefferson dining hall Monday through Thursday.
  • Pasta Bars are available Monday through Friday in all dining halls.
  • Soup stations are available at Jefferson and Nelson. Both locations serve bread bowls, available at lunch and dinner at Jefferson Monday-Thursday and at Nelson Monday-Friday.
  • Asian Food (Jump) is available for lunch, Monday - Friday at Nelson dining hall and for dinner Monday - Friday at Boyd dining hall.
  • Carving Station offers roast beef, turkey, ham, or pork loin carved to order at dinner Sunday-Thursday at all dining halls.
  • A Mexican food bar serving tacos, burritos, and fajitas is available for dinner Monday-Friday at Nelson.
  • A Burger/Chicken bar serving 1/3 lb sirloin burgers and 4 oz chicken breasts for lunch or dinner Monday-Friday at Nelson.
  • Ice Cream Shoppe is available for lunch and dinner every day at Shivley, Jefferson, Nelson, and Bromley dining halls.
  • Grab 'n' Go meals are available at lunch and dinner, Monday - Friday at Boyd and Shivley dining halls. Additionally, Shively serves breakfast. Boyd offers panini sandwiches, wraps, and sushi.
  • Boyd offers a smoothie bar at lunch and dinner.

Meal equivalency for lunch and dinner will be available in the Nelson mini-mall at Nelson Style Pizza and Sunset Strips.

All menu items containing pork are clearly labeled.

All the dining halls exclusively use 100% vegetable shortenings, oils and margarines.

The dining halls serve 20 meals each week in a span of 34 meal periods. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served each day Monday-Saturday. On Sundays the dining halls offer brunch and dinner.

During the following holidays brunch and dinner will be served: Labor Day, Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Memorial Day.

The Board of Trustees has approved the following room and board rates effective Fall Quarter 2006.
