Ohio U Climate Commitment Updates

On March 15, 2007, President Roderick McDavis signed the Presidents Climate Commitment, pledging Ohio University to climate neutrality.

A small committee of students, faculty and staff were reviewing and collecting data throughout the summer. This work continued to move forward with help from a seminar class during the fall.

Currently a small working group of students, faculty, and staff are collecting data.

The Presidents Climate Commitment: Where do we stand, where can we go?

As the earth warms and concern about human impact on the climate grows, 500 university presidents, including Roderick McDavis of OU, responded by signing the Presidents Climate Commitment (PCC), a pledge made to move their campuses towards climate neutrality.

What are the goals of the PCC? What is OU doing to meet these goals? What can we do in the future? Members of the campus and university community are invited to discuss the PCC and how OU can lessen its carbon footprint. This is the second in a periodic series of fora hosted by the Ecology and Energy Conservation Committee at Ohio University. It is free and open to the public.
