Recruitment Pool For Apprentice Program
AFSCME and Ohio University have agreed to include an Apprentice Program in the 2000-03 Collective Bargaining Agreement (see Appendix C).

To fill future positions in skilled trade shops, an Apprentice Program Recruitment Pool has been formed and these individuals will have first-selection status in the Apprentice Program classes. The pool provides an opportunity for employees who are interested in pursuing a career in maintenance to obtain the training and experience required to reach the Maintenance Repair Worker 1 level.

All apprentice program training will be done on paid time. Ohio University will also pay for tuition, books and related costs. The University will work with these employees and their department heads to make schedule adjustments.
